About Us
I gave birth to a baby in Mexico and I must confess that it has been the best decision of my life. Not only was I able to get a strong passport for my baby, the weather was perfect, accommodation was very affordable and the medical bills were comparatively much cheaper than the United States of America and Canada.
For these reasons, I decided to establish Birth Away Mexico in order to afford other parents the same luxury as I experienced.

No, getting a visa to Mexico is not difficult. You can enter Mexico if you apply for a Mexican visa, a Schengen visa or a UK visa. We can provide relevant assistance and support in procuring a visa.
Natural births cost $2,500-$3,000 on the average, while C-section costs about $3,000-$3,500.
We can also advise on cheaper options that range between $1,500 to $2,000.
Kindly note that the cost of delivery is not included in the delivery packages offered. Also, please note that the cost of childbirth can vary depending on many factors such as the hospital, the team of doctors, the exchange rate of the peso to the dollar, etc.
The payment is divided into two: before departure after signing all the necessary documents and the balance is paid upon arrival in Mexico.
We recommend that you arrive no later than 35 weeks as majority of the airlines will not accept passengers who are over.
On average, apartments in the city center cost about $1,500 per month. In the hotel zone, the prices are higher and they range from $2,000 to $4000 and above.
No, inability to speak Spanish will not pose a problem. If you opt for any of our full packages, you will be provided with a translator-doula who will accompany you to a maximum of five consultations with the doctor. The doula will also provide relevant support during delivery.
It is possible to rent a car with one’s local driver’s license. Kindly note that this is subject to the highway rules and regulations in Mexico as well as the conditions stipulated by the car rental office.
Barring any bureaucratic delays at the relevant agencies, we ensure that processing of all documents are completed within a month or two on average.
Yes, relatives such as the grandparents, brothers and sisters (under 18 years old) are eligible for permanent residence.
To obtain Mexican citizenship as parents, you will be required to live in the country for two years.
Yes, you can. We help to obtain an exit permit for up to 60 days.
If your stay is longer than 3 months, we will help with the placement of older siblings in school as there are many bilingual schools in Mexico. Based on our experience, children quickly learn foreign languages which is a great advantage to the child and the family at large.
